    Diagnostics or scanning tool

Whats the latest and greatest when it comes to general a diagnostics tool or laptop based for use like fault codes, reset service lights and code in new battery etc.
Not really interested in coding ability. Ideally for Newer BMW's eg F15 X5 and F83 M4 but if could be used on other makes all the better.
What are you guys using ?

Bimmercode is the phone based app i have seen a lot of people use. You can use it for coding or fault code checking etc you need a cable or wireless OBD2 dongle for it

I've used the launch before........they're great even the interface makes them feel more premium than diagnostics that cost 2/3 times more.

Thanks for the replies. Probably couldn't justify spending big money on one for the little amount of use it would get. I'll have a look at Carly and Bimmercode . Carly has a monthly subscription, don't think Bimmercode has...

    Diagnostics or scanning tool

If you look around you can get all the diagnostics with the exception of the cable for nothing

    INPA
    NCS EXPERT
    ISTA D/P

You'll probably just need a k dcan cable which is €20 on eBay.

The Bcables is great but not suitable for F Series cars. If I was you I’d buy and E Net cable on EBay, then pay €60 to a guy on EBay to install ISTA/P for you.

This cable looks well made and coles with an E-Sys launcher too for coding G Series cars.
