These days I'm leaning towards 5th gear, there is just no car content on Top Gear anymore...
And as per usual - I hate Richard Hammond
Il watch both but tiff is definitely the best driver hands down, I get a laugh out of top gear were as 5th gear entertains me
5th Gear lately, Top Gear is just getting more and more silly...
Went with 5th Gear, purely on the basis that it's more about the cars than a heavily scripted comedy car show.
While the entertainment of TG can be OK sometimes, 5th Gear offers way more info about the cars, and on cars that aren't way out of 99% of the publics reach.
A mash up of both; a weekly 2 hour show would do nicely! :D
Personally I find 5th gear to be a bit lacking in what top gear over does.
But the same can be said for TG lacking in what 5th Gear do very well! ;)Quote:

TopGear is 3 lads who genuinely love cars and messing around with them, I just love the randomness (I know its scripted) and the being a lad during the challenges.
Some epic pieces over the years:
The Polar race in the Hilux,
Aston Martin Tribute piece,
Best of British.
As much as some people dislike Clarkson, I think he's genuine and just says what he thinks (See the latest with Piers Morgan on Twitter?)
Yes I'd agree with that as well.Quote:

Which did you have on your wall as a kid? Was it the affordable or the amazing out of reach but someday variety?Quote:

5th Gear for me, as i like all the current presenters, they've cut down on a lot of the crash testing they used to do, and there's a decent performance test in every episode
When TG is good, it's awesome (like the CLK Black review in the Welsh mountains, or the Lancia tribute). However, 99% of the time it's utter bollox IMO
Fair point if you look at it that way when I had posters I liked top gear, now that the posters are long gone and actually starting to drive I'm now leaning towards fifth gearQuote:

Same as most people, like top gear for the challenges albeit scripted and 5th gear for the car reviews!
Watched TG Bolivian special repeat lately, 3 individuals who "get" cars as much as them you could not meet ,brilliant piece of motoring tv. That said for a car show fifth gear hits the spot .TG while ground breaking 10+ years ago it's tired and stale now I think.

To be honest I hope they continue with top for many years to come its still way better then most of the other shite on the box , the only channels I seem to watch the last few years are all the discovery's etc
