Ha ha Dave I actually thought you. Did some work for
A change
Actually it was yesterday but I think I last had the car waxed back in August, with two coats of CG Black over whatever was on the paint at the time. It was just a quick job to get the car through a 'ring trip. The weather has been so shit since that I haven't bothered with re-waxing the car yet for winter but I have been using Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax after each wash. The effects last about a week (which is perfect as the car is washed every week) but the water beading is as they claim, relentless.

As it looked like the weather was going to be dry today, set about giving a proper clean. First up Orchard Cotton Candy Snow Foam
Attachment 1230
After that washed down with the 2BM using Maxolen Shampoo (smells great!)
Attachment 1231
Next up was a de-tar using Orcard De-Tar Gel
Attachment 1232
With the basic wash done, time to tackle the clay bar (my first time doing this). Have to say very easy to do & took much less time than I thought with great results
Attachment 1233
Attachment 1234
Once claying was done, another snowfoam & wash and then dried with a micro-fibre towel. Next up was a coat of Bilt Hamber Auto Balm
Attachment 1235
After 4 hours, was feeling a bit knackered, but happy with the results, finished off with some Meguiars tyre shine:

Gave me dad's car a clean which was well over-due...

My 2nd time using Demon Shine as a drying aid -> I'm now converted, makes drying much easier and safer I have found....I just wouldn't use it as directed on the bottle
Good work lads! :)
In the absence of pictures -
dry snow foam with autobrite super snow foam
hand wash with bramley bubble bath (I cannot recommend this shampoo highly enough)
clean the shitty bits (orchard auto care APC and a cooking brush)
Hand wash again
Wax with commercial (coloured) nano wax
Quick detail shine
I blame the bubble bath for the continuing beading - always makes me smile
It's a bit shiney too...

Good man Dave - looking well!

Quick job of a sealant literally took 10 minutes to apply after washing and drying so will see how it holds up, suppose to last 8 months.
Is there anything IPA can't do!! One of the neighbours had there car scribbled on with marker during the night (windows mostly), a quick spray on a cloth and after a few wipes the car was clear of graffiti...should be a part of every detailing kit IMO
Attachment 1390Saturday I did some cutting on the mini with 3M fast cut then 2 coats of Autoglym super resin and some HD wax.
She won't be getting any TLC until after Xmas now as I'll be up to my eyes in nixers.
Joey try get at it again but with a final finishing polish and a finishing pad. The fast cut is aggressive so needs a finishing off so to speak ;)Quote:

Gave it it's winter coat... Chemical guys Blacklight followed by collinite 476 then a coat of autoglym liquid sealant/gloss enhancer stuff. Excellent beading and lasts ages. Two washes on and it's 95% as good!
Got something a bit tastey to valet today. Very cool and uber rare.
Well it was yesterday but I finally got a chance to test out the new additions to my dteailing arsenal - underbody lances & a lance with a 45 degree nozzle.
The muck has nowhere to hide now!! lol
The big lance is useless! :crying: I'm going to cut a couple of inches off below the nozzle as at the minute its too long to even go under the car.
The lance with 45 degree nozzle is a real handy job. Great for doing wheel arches and can get in behind the wheel too.

Gave her first wash yesterday and a coat of perfection :)

Good man Owen, how does the interior feel to be in now?
Keep the pics coming ;)
Can't comment at the moment as I haven't done the drivers area (ie seat/carpet/door card) but it does look a bit fresher (some of the stains gone but will need another go in a few months), i would recommend renting/buying one as it will always be needed for 1 car or another weather and working hours have conspired against me but off Monday/Tuesday so hope to dig into my own car, hasn't been washed since November so will be a huge transformation, will start with the da aswell ;)Quote:

Just a quick PIC to show what a quick change a da can do to cloudy headlamps;
Car: '08 megane
Headlamps beginning to go cloudy, not overly mad but enough to let the front of the car down
Quick test (finishing pad with CG V38)
Attachment 2280
Drivers light finished (2 passes)
Attachment 2281
Passenger light yet to be done
Attachment 2282
Time taken: 10 mins Max (most of the time taken masking rather than actually polishing)
Rear lights were also tackled but no pictures, these required multiple passes with a combination of pads and polish combinations to reduce 90% of the scratches.

Looks great Owen, that second shots looks like new!
Funny enough it took 3 times longer to do the Rear lights and a combination of both light polishing and finishing Pads. Polished the boot and bonnet (easiest shape - rectangular and sprayers under the bonnet) black is such a rewarding colour to work withQuote:

Came home from work and considering it was still good outside I went straight into doing some detailing.
In the past few weeks it has been dishearting when I have a day off work but can't do anything because of the weather so when the weather comes good I will try make the most of it.
As we all know BMW paint is hard and coupled with the colour of my car, it is very difficult to get quick results. As a result I have begun to tackle the fathers car....one panel at a time when I can.
Attachment 2368
A 2008 black megane with lots of swirls due to poor wash technique, I hold my hands up for that mistake.....years of the karcher brush wash technique :(
Having already tackled the bonnet, lights and boot last week it was now for something a little more tricky....front wings and also the wing mirrors. Hadn't tackled plastic parts before so a bit apprehensive but knew to make sure plastic not to get to warm or the shit would definitely hit the fan ;)
First off was a quick wash followed by a quick clay of the panels. It was then ready for some polishing fun.

You're inspiring me here.
I popped over to a mates today to give his Audi a quick wash. Looking theses I can see a DA purchase coming up soon.I Could post the washed pics.
Finally got a full car completely polished since I purchased the da from the lads in the shed. Have no access to a shed and work hours are after all over the place so rarely get a good run at it.luckily had the chance as had a car that would be unused for 2 weeks so could crack on with no interruptions. Car want too bad just covered in light swirls. Only a single stage polish but the Car looks much fresher
Obligatory 50\50

Spent the guts of 4 hours cleaning and sealing a set of wheels that were refurbed not too long ago!! Brake dust was wedged onto them!!
Look great now and should be a doddle to clean from now on
