Good add peter, looked and sounded great when I met you.
Great cars with plenty of useable power, best upgrade is that LSD.

Thanks Nige, sad times indeed, it's the best car I've ever owned by miles. Thanks for the link to the performance exhaust as well, would've snapped it up if i was holding on to the car.

Not sure what I could follow it up with to be honest Fraser, hard to get something better without spending big bucks - E92 M3s of similar vintage are 40k+ for example. The plan is to go traveling with the mrs though, but if we're staying in Ireland for another little while might look for a fun run around to keep me going. Maybe a nice Z4, always wanted one of those :)

Thanks Al, you said it, with the power accessible from so low in the rev range it's very useable in daily driving, the LSD was pricey but worth every penny I reckon.
Cheers for the kind words everyone, for anybody that may have missed it, this is my thread on the car with a lot more details and photos etc grab a cuppa and enjoy the read if you're interested :) http://www.bmwhaus.ie/forum/showthread.php?tid=5369

RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
Sorry to see this go so quickly Peter, best of luck with the sale!
BMW water?????? Does it make you go to the loo a lot quicker and cost a fortune? :P

RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
Will consider part exchanges for something smaller, fun, and of course - rear wheel drive.
Namely:
Z4 Roadster (six pot)
S2000
1 Series M Sport (must be M sport)

I'm not sure yet, I really fancy a Z4 or an S2000, I probably need rear seats but might go for one anyway at least for a while to get it out of my system :p Trouble is a Z4 is heavy enough so it needs to be a 2.5 at least and that's not exactly downsizing... An S2000 would be ideal really, at least on paper, already got reasonable insurance quotes, 2.0 tax, tons of power (supposedly) and an LSD, must finally drive one to see what it's like, have a feeling it's gonna be a lot of fun, I'm still young enough to not really care if it's a bit raw :p makes a car more fun anyway! Finding a good example might be an issue though.

RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
congrats on the sale man! and good luck with your new car hunt, ive driven a few s2000s and being honest, have been very un impressed by them, very very small inside, yes they make great power on paper but unless your always low in the gears there fairly gutless, a 2.5 z4 wud be a much nicer and way better value car imo.... and i promise im not bmw biased haha
-
RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
As i said yesterday fella a z4 with a 2.5-3ltr is a better overall package then an s2000.
Yes an s2000 for a sunday hour blast on the limiter is great fun but daily, in traffic etc......no.
-
RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
for the love of all that is holy dont buy an s2000 as your daily!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
Cheers for the feedback gents ;)

Congrats on the sale Peter. Happy searching. I think you need to get an Z4M or a Z3M in my opinion. Z3M'S are going back up in value and really rare nowadays.

Cheers man! Dunno what it is about Z3s but they do nothing for me. Z4s on the other hand are gorgeous
Need to have something "sensible"-ish now, but will certainly be back in something nuts in due course, next time I'm dead set on a V8  :D for now though it's probably something along the lines of a Z4 / E46 / 1 series.

Just on this, I work with a friend of Kris' and I was asking about the Z4 and by all accounts it really is very clean with a few extras like the heated seats and shoulder heating etc. Haven't seen her myself but knowing Kris' previous stable I have no doubt that this Z is immaculate.
-
RE: 2007 E92 335i with LSD
I viewed Kris' Z4 Monday night, lovely car :) just considering all options, only sold the 335 on Sunday night so want to take my time. Heated seats are a tasty option and an absolute must for a Z! It has a wind deflector too which is nice to have ;)
