:cool::happy::wink::mad::smiling::surprised::cryin g::huh::hehe!::tounge:
yes i saw
It was a joke! No wonder insurance costs a fortune in this country. The lad that got caught 8 times without insurance and a 12year ban how does he get insurance and get back behind the wheel of an Impreza??? I find it hard to insure a car. Driving around a cone or drifting I don't see the attraction but each to their own in all but doing it or drag racing on a public road that's just retarded!
No way can he be insured, did he say at some point you live and learn? after 8 times you clearly don't. Him versus the Road Safety bloke "Can we not have a slab like?"Quote:

At least they showed a couple of minutes of a track day in mondello!
All I got from it was........... You bring a bmw to a drag race and a lexus to the crossroads for rings!!:tounge:
^ And a Sierra to King of the cone.
No wonder it's getting a lot harder to get parts for them. There all being driven around a cone up in Donegal!
To add, The amount of abuse that Shane lad is getting is mental! (The Industrial estate drag racing lad)
FaceBook is rife with Memes, It's also on his FB page.
There's even a petition, http://www.petitionbuzz.com/petitions/petition-to-get-shane-dublin-meets-deported-to-syria
He really has left himself open.
this isn't his first massive mess up either ,
he had underage girls "modelling" for him at a car show.
he actually is the biggest drain on society I've ever come across
Christ it's painful to watch!
Needs to be a counter production!Quote:

What an absolute load of bollox this show is. A complete misrepresentation of the real car scene in Ireland. I now have zero respect for RTE. Put the biggest morons on TV with their shit boxes doing rings and forget about the enthusiasts who don't want to wreck their cars in mindless thoughtless stupid behavior.

I would've thought the same but RTE would hardly let their presenter and camera man in a car with an uninsured driver? Is he thick enough after been banned and caught 8 times without insurance to let a tv show film him?Quote:

Yer man with the RWD converted EP above, is that the fella that was in the Irish apprentice?
Looks like my decision not to watch this was a good one!!!
Highlight of the show "smells like someone set fire to a pint glass of johnnys" the rest well what else did you expect
The lad with all the bans lives not far from me,he always has good cars, recently a red evo, always powerful cars and seems to be no issue with cash or insurance.

Yeah that's him, Think he sells Wreaths?Quote:

Would love to have seen a Cars N Coffeee featured, an IDC day that shows the proper balls/skilled involved rather than a hard man diffin round a cone. An interview with James Deane, Possibly the most famous guy within the drifting scene in Ireland virtually unheard of to normal people though. Show the achievements he's had.
Various TrackDays in Mondello, Would have been very cool to see the Fiesta Zetec Championship or the open track days.
What about the Toyota run in Cork raising €15k earlier this year? (Although that's fucked and becoming a static show next year from fucktards diffin)
It's 'Ireland's Car Scene' so what about the various vintage clubs raising thousands for charities each year?
No VAG scene (Okay I can't stand it either) but it's a current scene and I respect it.
VERY RWD orientated programme, Would actually have loved to have scene a 2-part documentary showing the complete contrast between the heroes in Tezzas and Sierras and the genuine people.
RTE had a serious chance to really gain some 'New Generation' viewers, But no they wanted to retain to the 'Boy Racer' title. Similar to TV3 with the Traceller programmes.
What a load of complete SH1T
I'm never taking my Subaru out again!!!!!
Series McRae Free to Good Home:crying::crying:
That's called Fast and Furious on the other hand, what did you expect? A Ferrari 360 in a car and coffee meet being waxed by boobies while the owner gives the car service history overview?
Ill take it off your hands!:wink:Quote:

Lots of contradiction going on. Sure wasn't there a video of Nikki trying to diff on a duel carriageway in her NA Skyline a few years or am I mixing her up?
Nobody is a good boy or girl. We all have pulled the hand brake or done a burn out.
But when that's done by a bunch of inbreds on a SHLAB every car enthusiasts is portrayed that way.
Doesn't matter if you own a Clio 197, a "super rare" rear wheel driver starlet, a Lexus IS200 SPORT, an M3, a DC2 or a bloody Ferrari, car enthusiasts will rev their engine and speed in some way because that's what we do.
As I said we just don't want to be portrayed by Shane Dublin Meets..... Fair play to him for sopporting homeless.....
It would've been "boring" to show the real enthusiasts, it would've only been interesting to other enthusiasts, would've been more suitable for Discovery Turbo... They have to create "danger" and "drama" for the general public to watch it. Showing the people who buy is200s spending "200 euro" on them (presumably on welding the diff and a pair of rear tyres) "specifically for that weekend" is literally the exact opposite of what enthusiasts do.
I'd watch Del Boys van being waxed by BOOBIES:tounge::tounge::tounge:Quote:

Nobody thinks they're a God for doing a few hoops. They're just having fun their own way and not harming anybody. What makes you "genuine" and them not?
Obviously it shouldn't be done on the road but in a legit area like KOTC theres not a thing wrong with it
I ended up watching the full documentary in the end last night, I got 5 minutes in and turned it off then thought "sure give it a chance" and put it back on. To say RTE made a balls of it is an understatement, they only wanted to portray the worst element of the scene here in Ireland.
There were some lovely cars in the EP yard including one which belongs to a very good friend. A Toyota Starlet GT-Turbro which has been restored/returned back to original condition, he had painstakingly spent months searching for all the original Genuine OE Toyota optional extras to be retro fitted to the car in a quest for a fully optional extra loaded OE Starlet Turbo. The owner in question is very much a true Toyota lover and enthusiast and has restored many. I was speaking to him this morning and he is furious (pardon the pun) with the documentary. He informed me that RTE interviewed him and all about his journey with the car and this interview was omitted from the documentary. They probably found him and his story too tame for their "Boy Racer" documentary which is a shame as he would have been one of the very very few in that documentary that would of represented enthusiasts very well.
As Michael said it was "Fast and Furious" show and that's all RTE had an interest in portraying.
I have no issues with people enjoying themselves and bringing a car to a private yard for some donuts, burnouts and overall hooning around, but to show this documentary and portray it as "Ireland's Car Culture" or "Ireland's Modified Car Scene" is just ridiculous. They had a great chance to do a documentary about Irish car culture which could have been done in 4 separate parts over a month or so and shown every aspect properly IMO.
Load a bollix..is that what ye dubs be at :D
Putting on my tin foil hat here but would a state funded company like RTE ever show something the state obviously considers a scourge in a positive light?
Try and download an extension for google chrome called Hola, make sure it's the extension not the app, then enable it in your settings. I use it to watch us netflix etc. make sure to disable it after your finished though as it'll slow your internet down.Quote:

It's Rte Johnny they have basically everything blocked. I've tried everything :(
Have you tried www.unblock-us.com
With this you just enter the unblock-us DNS entry in to your router (or device) and in your account you can select the country you want to pretend to be in, switching between countries as needed without having to change the DNS.
You get one week free trial and $4.99 a month after that. There are free versions of this type of service but three things to consider:
- Why is it free? What are they getting in return?
- Unblock-us is OK speed wise, free ones can be crap
- Good choice of countries to choose from
Thanks Mark. No good same shite. I give up.Quote:

Pity now that you can't watch Fair City! I did a bit of searching and it seems RYE are blocking VPNs as they start discovering their IP addresses. Here are 3 more that are all paid for VPNs that worked with RTE Player up to July of this year judging by the article:
http://www.watchtvabroad.com/how-to-watch-rte-player-abroad/
http://www.watchtvabroad.com/link/ipvanish
http://www.watchtvabroad.com/link/vyprvpn
http://www.watchtvabroad.com/link/hidemyass
It doesn't look like any of these offer a free trial though.
Maybe a silly question but what does RTE or other channels gain from blocking their content to other countries? To not slow down their server or something is it?
Think its a lot to do with the like of sky having rights to the gaaQuote:
