What's the opinion?

Nay for me...I prefer the newer model though
I voted hot.
Whilst they arent very powerful and are quite heavy compared to the E46.
They are a really well built and well finished machine. They make a nice noise and have an LSD as standard.
There's certain things about the way Lexus build a car that as an engineer they get a big thumbs up. Simple things like wheel arch liners that extend right the the lip of the wheel arch to protect from stone chips and subsequent rust.
On another forum I said these were the last cars that were designed for longevity.
Definitely not pikey wagon of choice in dublin ,slow very underpowered extremely thirsty and tiny inside
I like the bigger stuff from lexus though
was going to get one of these before the bavarian bug bit, very comfy inside and handles well
I had one as a loaner for a week in 2005. Loved it. HOWEVER they quickly became the pikey wagon as Gar points out - a lot of it down to Altezza 'Beams' engined imports :(
Big not from god. Pikey wagon
I liked them when they came out but now they are all in bits or in the hands of the felt spec brigade. Nice car if you want a cheap rwd 6-pot.
Can't decide this one.
I see one of these I think of pikey boy racers.
Altezza/IS200 Altezza/IS200 Altezza/IS200
NO!
Slow
Ugly
Thirsty
And the bleedin steering wheel doesn't correct itself like every other car
Basically a ball of shite !!!
NO
And you really need auto correcting steering Rob....
What do you think.....Quote:

They are so common in galway it's unreal.
4 years ago I would have said hot but not now so I voted NO.
I can see the appeal cheap road marker but not for me.
Remember looking at one of these about 10 yrs ago in M&G Rathgar
Looked good back then, but the scummers have really taken to them
now, so wouldn't go near one.
I drove my mates one from Galway to Dublin a couple of years ago,
wasn't bad to drive iirc
Love the instrument cluster, but that is about it.

Use to like them and considered one too back when they were 15k or so and no pikeys driving them...Drove one recently, didn't know what to make of it...
Voted note based on the pikey fact but as John pointed out, built very well and to last.
The only set of instruments in a car based on a watch that I can think ofQuote:
