Low end grunt VS Top end power / Power Delivery Preference
Which do you prefer and why?
If you were to remap a car for example, how would you set it up?
Low end is great for real world daily driving, however dissapointing when on an open road and reach higher revs and find nothing.
Power at the top end is the opposite.
Linear power delivery is nice and smooth but you never really have a "holy crap" moment.
Opinions?

I love the low end torgue....

Top end power as i love how the power just continues to build and build all the way to the red line:happy:
Great thead btw!

I'd have to agree, after the manifold / exhaust mods on the 323, I couldn't believe how de-restricted / free revving it was and the power at the top end. Loved it. But I think a 3.15 diff will help increase low end torque, and then maybe a remap at some stage down the line to get the most out of it.
Would love to drive one with M50/exhaust + 3.15 and remap to see the difference they'd make :smiling:

Are you just referring to NA engines or are you including TC or SC engines?
RE: Low end grunt VS Top end power / Power Delivery Preference
Just a general preference question Dave so would have to include Supercharged and Turbocharged engines too :)

Makes it very interesting so!

Another interesting comparision. Having experienced the overwhelming low end torque of big capacity diesel engines it's hard to deny the "smile per gallon" factor you get when taking off and its every day applications.
Given the choice i'd go for high end power deliver as much for the sensation as for the noise

I can appreciate the low end torque in a daily driver and I kind of miss it in the M6.... But no, just a few minutes of high end noise and power at the red line wins every time.
