Had an easy spin up in Ticknock yesterday..broke my finger last week falling off, so couldn't do any of the quick trails, but getting put in the fresh air is good enough.

Put on some new tyres (Maxxis High Rollers, Halfords are doing 3 for 2 on bike parts) and picked up some new bars and a stem (Raceface).

I'm making it my mission to get back in to it in the coming months now that I'm nearly one year settled back in Cork.

Like a few on here I've swapped out/upgraded parts on the bike too! 105 Pedals, carbon bottle holders, tyres, etc. Had been considering a wheel change before my injury. In reality I should be looking for a Hybrid bike, it would probably suit the type of cycling I need to do for the next while. For the road bike above you need to go all out in full cycling gear, Lycra, cycling shoes, etc. so it he prep needed is a bit OTT. I feckin' hate hills & I live on top of a hill so that's a disincentive to go out on it too!
I'll get back in to it though!
Nice bike rebel.ranter it's always hard to get back into it especially after surgery had a job done on my back too last year 1st couple of spins were tough but once you settle in it gets easier. Sold that MTB bike the other day but looking at those pictures don put up makes me think I should've given the trails ago! Anyone doing gaelforce west next weekend?
I collected my first road bike during the week, got a couple of short spins in friday evening and today and got to say im loving it so far, just getting used to it but managed close to 20kms today which isn't too bad a bad start for a lad with poor fitness levels (i'm 5 9 and 86kg so need to lose weight) and a sore ar5e! Got padded shorts for this mornings spin and it improved things a lot.
Here's a pic of the bike and here's to plenty more miles!
