RE: What did you do to your car today
Managed to give her what's probably gonna be the last wash of this year ! Another coat of HD wax for good measure - the beading is still rediculous from last coat it got from Chris !
Found a great big crack at the bottom of my windscreen I never noticed before - have to get on to the insurance company on Monday - free windscreen cover and all that - assume they'll use OEM ?!?
Not today but a couple of weeks ago - LCI rear lamps sourced, installed and coded with thanks to Tomas and Cambo in PerfectCar

RE: What did you do to your car today
Yesterday was the start of an overhaul I'll finish today. I started with replacing the rear springs. The rear left was snapped in two places, without the load I just turned it sideways and pulled it out of the wishbone! Then the front springs, wishbones, wishbone bushings and tie rod assemblies were removed. Steering rack inspected, it's grand.
Today is reassembly with new parts and replacement if the flex disc/guibo

Sold the E46 so now it will be time to start enjoying my new E36 estate :)

Good man. I was going to ask if you had driven it other than your 'expedition' home!
Like the work you've done so far btw.

Hello there Paul, thank you, glad and happy you liked what you have seen so far
No, since the drive down from Leitrim I have not driven the car on public roads.
I have only warmed her up and driven her in my estate which is off the main roads but that is it. Have been mostly detailing her and tonight drove her for the first time... feels good :D Can't wait to take her for a spin again ;)

Put it back together anyway but I ran out of time for the guibo. It needs an alignment after all the messing but I drove it from Kilkenny to Dublin this even and the ride was smoother than it has ever been. A few borrowed hours on a mechanic's lift would be a godsend to help get the guibo done before the NCT swings around on December 6th :)

Picked these up from Hamish there on Saturday, must get them into the car soon and do the fronts get that sorted with Pioneer too match the rears plus the head unit.

Noticed the windscreen washer pressure had dropped off a good bit the last few weeks so i removed the washer bottle and cleaned it...it was actually full of gunk and the filter at the bottom was completely blocked. I thought the jets might be fecked but the filter did its job. It's the little things that matter:happy:

Probably the solutions that have been used in it over the year Shane, what do you normally put in there? Did it take long to do? Be a nice DIY actually

Only myself to blame Chris...I applied rainex to the windscreen so I rarely use the washer so the solution obviously just settled! Ah it's a piece of piss - 10 mins max
