Great story, well told! :)
I wonder does the current owner have any knowledge of the cars history.....
yea as far as I know they covered it
Would it not be hard to hide that kind of major work completed at an Irish main dealer - any check of the BMW system should show this up, no ?
Some of those 8 previous owners amy have indeed found out and shifted it on rapidly to the next unsuspecting punter.
I know key history will show up everything that's been done to a car in the bmw system even by other dealers but we never had key readers in conlons before I left in 06 (they were only widespread released to every dealer in 09/10) so that might impact the viewable history of a car..not 100% on that its never something ive thought about
a vehicle reg history will only show you everything that's been done on a car in that dealership your in
its a complicated way of doing it and it should be all there to view but for some reason car companies don't allow dealers to look up a car history if its been in another dealership
ive had similar issued when I worked for Toyota and Porsche
cartel should have all that data from insurance but ive bought a car in the past that had been in a crash and it didn't flag on cartel even though I traced it back to a main dealer who did the work (only traced it because I seen the dealer sticker on the inside of a wing liner that was fitted)
wouldn't have any fears about the work done on that car as it had to pass a bmw inspection aswell as an insurance one before it was allowed back on the road given the nature pf the work done and the car itself (last thing bmw wanted was what was essentially a new m5 going out with poor workmanship)
The ultra rare Mahindra Fiat BMW jeep thing...
