RE: Recall on 2 Ltr Diesel timing chains
Thanks Lads, they said it was based on the readings and at on;y 1.5mm out it was replace tensioner only on the computer. It sounds exactly as it did before it went in but sure we'll see how it goes at least it's done now.

Did you have any issue getting it covered? Did you have to pay for an initial diagnosis in advance?

I rang them and they said my chassis number fell under the recall, so in it popped and they did a diagnostic on it. Told me it was only 1.5mm out so it only needed a tensioner, changed it, cleaned the car and off I went again, no paperwork for any work done "it's all in the key" supposedly and no money changed hands.

Ah shite, will he be looked after?
RE: Recall on 2 Ltr Diesel timing chains
This could move a lot of people away from the brand and rightly so!

Ah sh***, will he be looked after?
Doesn't look likely - its come down from BMW in Munich rather than an Ireland only decision, so the option of going up north isn't even available.
