It was a 3GS..thankfully just a spare phone but could have set fire if it exploded as it was in my bedside locker
Same thing happened a new IPad we sold to a customer the other day, whatever way they have the batteries sealed is genius, they "explode" but remain sealed, they must bloody expect it if that's the case.Quote:

What causes/caused this Shane?
I have 2 3GS stored away somewhere... I must check them!
Very common issue on the 3GS when dropped. The battery breaks and expands.Quote:

I'd want about a dozen of them to keep dust/bird crap off cars in the garage.
Where is the best place to get them? (Think there similar to what body shops would use?)
Something like this maybe? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3M-Clear-Masking-Film-5m-x-120m-Boxed-Static-Polythene-Sheeting-Poly-Mask-Roll-/121448250190?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_3&hash=item1c46e13b4e

Random NCT question:
I thought the NCT were no longer notifying people about being due an NCT? Yet I got a random email saying I signed up to electronic notification for testing and a provisional date is set for 7th January even though the test is due in November?!?
It is around the time to book a test yes, but I have no recollection of clicking or unclicking something so I'd receive email notification, especially when the date is completely wrong! Is it a spam mail? I'm awful suspicious!
Good read re water rates: http://www.independent.ie/opinion/columnists/gene-kerrigan/time-to-ask-why-are-we-doing-this-30674782.html
I met James Dyson on Tuesday and he hit me with this nugget which I thought was interesting;
'42% of the cost of a new BMW, is the electrics.'
I would have never guessed it to be that high.
I'd ignore it and just call them.Quote:

This is a completely random question so here goes.
Does anyone breed or know of anyone that breeds French Bulldogs? The OH and and kids would like one but its a breed I know little about and research online suggests a lot of these dogs here come from east European puppy farms and as a result they have all sorts of health issues. I've been told to go to the uk but fook that I'd only do that for a car!
If anyone has a contact it would be much appreciated.
Fook me buying a house is a long as process!!!!
Tell me about it and try being in negative equity!Quote:

So frustrated looking at cars
No 1 series with engines bigger than 2.0 never mind a 135i coupe... No 08+ m sport 335i e92s, there's ONE cabrio in NI that works out circa 17k but VRT is 8K+ so minimum minimum 26k to have it on the road here after tax and the mileage is too high anyway tbh @75k..
Z4s are few and far between but 08 3.0Si roadsters are non existant on this island seemingly. Annoying part is there is 3 x 07 coupes...
Looking at other cars as well but can't find what I'm looking for. Maybe I'm too fussy but no point paying for a car that isn't really what you want
I don't think a BMW is the way to go with that criteria, surely a decent golf gti can be picked up for that kind of money.Quote:

Not a fan of golfs or front wheel drive, but speaking of VAGs, would love a TT S (pending driving one) 270bhp from a 2 litre and Quattro + 750e tax sounds pretty good to me though! Unfortunately there's only one for sale in the country, and the more I look at it the more I think I couldn't stomach the colour!
I think you already have your car...... The E36. :smiling:Quote:

Picked up the complete replacement unit, clipped off my boot trim fitted to the new one, and wired it all back up. 30 mins tops. I got the part (new) but 2nd hand. Was purchased to facelift an 03 coupé to give it the updated look, but he never went ahead with plans.
Since then, I now only touch the boot release to deactivate the lock, then move my hand to the side of the handle to lift the bootlid if that makes sense. I'm presuming the previous method of using the boot release itself to lift the bootlid caused increased wear hence the failure of it.
Ah great stuff lads, so a new assembly from eBay or breakers is my best bet?
Have the NCT in a week so I presume it'll fail on that basis.
Do what i did leave a note on the dash saying its disabled for security reasons ,use key or button under dash
Ah, don't have the button under the dash. Hmm
Stunning set of feet Gareth you should be a foot model.
Hopefully its not too bad and heals quickly ;)
