This is most likely a broken wire inside the rubber conduit that goes between the car body & the boot lid. Worth having a look in there & trying to re-join the wires. Seen it on a few e46, 3e39 & e90. Wouldn't be surprised if it also affected e60 too. The number plate lights are the most obvious item to cause problems but boot release also suffers.Quote:

Just watched the new Love/Hate on rte player. They really do love BMWs :D
And glorifying drug dealers and the lives they live.Quote:

I have a boot mechanism off an e46 at home, it was working fine before it came off, you're more than welcome to it, to take apart and use the switch or whatever if it suits the e39! It's the rubber part on the outside, switch that's in it, lock and cables and a white plastic release bar of some sort.Quote:

Ps: cheers to paddy for sorting me with a microswitch last night , didnt work unfotunately so must be wiring further down
Me little note for the boot worked anyways [emoji1]
But failed on driver side tie rod end and ball joint on driver side (on the arm i presume ?) Also headlight alignment
No biggy valdas put me wide to the track end last year so iv a brand new set of full tie rod assemblys in the press and i dont mind doing bits to the suspension as i was doing it anyways

That's rapid looking
4X20w is to be avoided not powerful enough will sound awful.
Need at least 4x35w in a 36 imo. Shame looks unreal. Only USB no BT :(
You can get a little usb bluetooth dongle would that would enable it ?
I still think the cd43 is the best looking original unit
There is another vw oem unit that offers everything and fits the e36 perfect its only aroumd 250 new from vw but i cant remember the model no.
It wouldn't unfortunately, the head unit wouldn't have the firmware to support the dongle.Quote:

Whatever about the spec, the knob being right in the middle is annoying
The most annoying thing for me is the way the face really stands out away from the dash on the original units it sits nice and flush right across
I'll probably get burned at the stake for this, but I'm just going to come out and say it! I don't like the noise V10s make! Obviously it sounds better than a 4 pot, but it's not particularly nice.. It's lacking something, it sounds kind of synthesized... Am I the only one who thinks so?
Order of preference:
V8
V12
V6
V10
Straight 6
V4
Straight 4
(Not including the VW W16, or engines with less than 4 cylinders)
What's your favourite sounding engine configuration?
Oh I don't know, I could put up with this v10 I suppose http://youtu.be/3b0W7Gitr6M
Ooooooh I love this game :D as soon as I can access YouTube I will be sure to play :p
Good stuff this(and no that easy to find) great for the seals on the car also stops them sticking in freezing temps
8.50 delivered is good value
