what do you make of them andy are they just a marketing excercise by alpina to go more commercial , would they be similar to a remapped 320d with a few alpina bits added on ?
If you were to do a quick back to back drive it might not be immediately obvious there is much different to a remapped car. But with the Alpina there is more to it to gaining the power hike and would give a confidence that the power upgrade would last and be reliable for many years. Also the balance and finesse with which the Alpina goes about it's business would be hard to replicate. It's not the fastest car in the world, at the end of the day it's still a 4 cylinder diesel, but it's a good one.Quote:

I see a 02 D E46 M3 cab every day parked in the multi story I park in in Limerick, I can only assume whoever owns it lives in the same apartment block as me, looks a nice clean motor on refurbed standard 18's, its a dark blue colour, not topaz maybe orient blue
Also has "AC Cars Dublin BMW Specialists' reg surrounds, anyone know it?
Yeah see that about a fair bit too Noel and found it where he lives, supposedly a mini mad house and do fix them up! Girl who lives beside him was telling me there does be loads of nice old school minis outside :cool:Quote:

With regard yo bmws , very little of the regular stuff you would see on Irish roads
E39 x2
E36 x3
E46 x5
E60 x2
Z4 x3
A lot of the more expensive stuff such as x5/f10/f30s on the road, the most memorable was a new f30 touring in Boston/British racing green, suited it fairly well
I spotted an F10 on the back of a recovery truck this morning at 5:30 and there was a cop car driving in front of it,but the headlights were still on the car while it was the on back and there didnt seem to be any damage to it,kinda got me thinking anybody have an idea what might of been going on?
Stolen recovered maybe
Met a white E60 "M5" on the M9 to Dublin on Saturday afternoon. I say "M5" because it was no more M5 than my left testicle is. It would have been a lovely clean car other than the added on tat.
Seen that around Waterford the last few months its parked up in Ballybricken a lotQuote:
