Now I have not experimented issues like this before so I can't comment on how messy it can get. I always use the computer.
There is no need to flash the cluster, it is already up to date, the car was fully flashed a few months ago. Now I can do a reset and see how it goes. When you do a reset it does a factory reset. It was done already a few months ago, but who knows. It may work or not. But you may have the same issue again in 12 months, 24 months. I have no idea.
Happy to try that for you

One thing to understand is that the CBS items are coded to the Kombi or Cluster.
When u attempt to reset through the push button sequence it can mess up.
What I do with these is to flash update the cluster and recode it.
Then using CBS function with Diag tool reset BACKWARDS the service counters. This usually brings back the capability to reset from cluster.
It's looking like you will have to bring it to someone with Autologic etc.
Where are u in country?
The weird thing is that it was reset way before it was needed. The computer never even reached 0 for the Microfilter. I replaced the micro filter and reset the computer months ago, months before the pro nav fitting. It has only shown up now that it is over due. Since the retro fit was done, it has shown up, I just haven't had the chance to get to him to reset it as I thought it was a straight forward thing, maybe the car the iDrive came from had this item needing done?
I will try reset the other items on the car, then try the Microfilter again to confirm if the issue is with every service item or just the Microfilter.
Thanks for the help so far.
RE: E60 Service Reset After Pro Nav Retrofit
Thanks Mark, keeping an opened mind on this, hopefully will get to the bottom of it.
Re: E60 Service Reset After Pro Nav Retrofit
F#cking electronics , when my microfilter needs doing it lets me know by emitting a funky odour into the cabin very high tech [emoji1][emoji1]

Highly doubt so, as Mark pointed out the data is stored in the cluster but also in the keys.
The warning would have shown straight away I suppose, this retrofit was done what, 2 months ago or so?

Yeah, give or take. Could the cluster need a reset or anything?
RE: E60 Service Reset After Pro Nav Retrofit
Was in a 2010 E60 520d, on it's iDrive menu there was no option for the micro filter. I'm wondering now is the iDrive system updated to a version which thinks a micro filter comes under a different menu but the speedo thinks it is required?

Afaiks LCIs don't have an option for Micro filters ;)

Yeah i was aware of that from having some LCI's in the house, so it seems that the issue may be because :
Its a 2004 Pre LCI Car.
Has Pro Nav retro Fitted.
LCI Radio
So maybe the LCI radio is causing this confusion?
And to top it off Mr. Healy reset it the other day using some PC wizard work and it has remained off so far!

Radio came from 2007/2008 e60, if that was 2010, that would be a CIC.
CIC came out in 11/2008 in E60.
Option is here for micro filters on LCI but most likely disabled from factory if you guys know the option does not show up. BMW might have decided to "embed" it within another service item and exclude it from the individual list.
This can be coded out from the cluster.
I doubt this has anything to do with the CCC since the data is stored in the cluster and the CCC iDrive only reads that to then present it on the iDrive screen.
