Yep, it's insured, but finding someone that will fit it properly is PITA. Anyone on here (who is a perfectionsist) used any recommended windscreen places in Dublin?Quote:

On a brighter note I jsut picked up my sub, enclosure & amp for the e36.Never did the whole ridiculous stereo thing when I was younger so I'm like a child with that stuff!
Bring on the new windscreen now!
Afraid not. Had the horrible experience on a 12 week old car and used a well know company via insurance who made a complete balls of a job, resulting in a complaint, refit and replacement damaged trim. Still wasn't perfect 2nd time round either :@Quote:

Autoglass is Cork did my e39 & it was reasonable enough from the outside except they got the black stuff on my A pillar.Quote:

Cheers, I went with Autoglass in Cork again in the end, they windscreen is only available as OEM BMW thankfully, so I'm happy about that.Quote:

Last year in Blarney Mark coded the car for amongst other things, the lock/unlock confirmation beep but at the time it didn't work so figured there was something wrong with the sounder. To then and now, when the car's alarm was triggered the cars horn would sound, I'm guessing it does this by default when there's a fault with the proper alarm sounder Then a combination of me both forgetting about it and being a lazy bastard, the job kept getting put off, that is at least till Mark shamed me in Blarney a few weekends ago and reminded me about it, and also suggested that I try and replace the batteries in the sounder to see if that would sort it. What was putting me off about it the most was the fact that the alarm siren sounder is located inside the rear bumper which had to be removed to access it:

So any way, last weekend I took the bumper off and replaced the batteries in the sounder:

But that didn't work... so I found a used one on ebay and decided it would be worth a shot. It arrived yesterday so today I got stuck in and swapped them out. I even put the new batteries (CR123A, €14/pair) I bought last weekend in the replacement unit it give it every chance.
Success!!
Lock/Unlock confirmation beeps, and the alarm works properly too.
Job done.
Great stuff Colm, you're determination to get the issue solved is admirable! Plus I get to say"I was right!" :) :D
