I kept this update separate as I didn't want it to get lost in the sea of Porsches above. I had the privilege of driving this on a short spin on Saturday morning. It is hard to believe that it's 33 years old, residing with the current owner for the past 28 years! It still only has 76k miles in the clock too!
The sound of the engine reminded me of my dads 1982 Granada, it had the same 2.8i V6 engine in it. In that car it pushed out 150bhp, which was big in those days. In the Capri it pushed out an extra 10bhp due the the twin exhaust design. This particular Capri has a Janspeed exhaust, it sounds just right for the car.
While I only took it for a short spin you could tell that this car was really tight, not a rattle or a squeak out of it!
It has a 5 speed gearbox which was fitted by the current owner, my dad's Granada had the 4 speed that this car would have originally had but I think the 5 speed gearbox makes a good difference.
This car also has all the correct Red and white decals.
These cars have the long nose, very muscle car esque, reminds me a bit of the 6 series in that respect.
This car would have been the attention grabber of the day, similar to an M6 now. That 2.8 INJECTION badge on the back was probably like a red rag to a bull back in 1981!
This particular car is in fantastic condition, a real head turner. Tow of my neighbours gathered in a matter of minutes in order to talk about it & have a look!
Enjoy the pictures!

On a final note, this car is of huge sentimental value to the owner & it really was a privilege to have a spin in a piece of history!
Went pricing Brooklands models in the UK afterwards, there's not many 2.8is available, never mind a Brooklands*.
*(Just for clarity this is not a Brooklands, in case someone pulls me up on it!)
Anyone on here with a 98-L Registered E38 sitting on I think 19" Alpina's? Seemed pretty happy to get a thumbs up :tounge:
That's KookieMonster (on driver) or also known as @kookie90 here.Quote:

I'd advise anyone to go to the F1 weekend once in their life. Friday is open to anyone at all. No ticket needed. It is expensive but you can do it on the cheap
