Previous owner had disconnected them and plugged them off, as they were obviously using quite a lot of water and they had pain in the arse filling the washer bottle so often. The day I bought the car, it passed the NCT so I was left scratching my head...until I was made aware they started checking it from Jan this year!
Got the washers re-plumbed, and brought it to for a re-test first thing this morning. Guy says she's still failing because of the washers...told him they were working and went out to they car but couldnt get them to work. Thought one of the hoses had come loose as the washers pop out by water pressure. Was almost home when the penny dropped that the poxy things must have been frozen still. Few hours in the sun, went back out and working no problem...quick return trip and a new NCT cert in possession!
If you've Xenons and its a frosty morning, and your test is early, maybe a drop of hot water in the windscreen washer bottle will ensure it doesnt happed to you!
Think about it. :wink:Quote:

You'd hope that the testers would become aware of this considering they are now taking a hard line on it. Were not exactly a Balearic country after all.Quote:

Today I fitted the tax disk. Which arrived in a weird small little envelope. Perhaps my complaint of delays was heard.
Anyway car is back on road after her winter break.
So far I've had the subframe repaired and reinforced thanks to motor confidence. Had new fuel lines installed with braided hoses.
Installed AKG subframe mounts diff mounts and fcabs.
Installed new complete tie rods. Wheel alignment.
Installed newly retrimmed steering wheel.
Replaced gearbox and differential oil. CDV delete.
Polished all four alloys to polished face finish. And gave her a good clean at the weekend.
She is driving and feeling like a different car ready to get back on the road.

Went over to have a look last night and can confirm the wheels are stunning. Mirror polish, great work Jim. Mine are getting a bit milky so will be def giving them the once over.Quote:

Dropped the Borbet Bs off to be stripped ready to be polished up for the Summer :)
Since we're all talking about improving wheels...id like to thank the dosey ar$ehole, 131 Audi A5 driver, who was finishing his breakfast, and crossed I to my lane on a small roundabout and resulted in this!!! Was fuming!!
