Well, any car I've looked at has been a 2012ish car with 2 year warranty that will 100% cover timing chain or turbo etc or so I'm told, so that makes the decision easier.Quote:

Insurance companies creating fake profiles on facebook to access photos of undeclared modifications to cars. Had one of these requests myself. How long before the start using forums?
Been going on years saves investigators a lot of effort and hard work when fighting against claimsQuote:

Social media best left to little girls a little privacy in life does no harm imo
Got one myself.
Apparently people are getting letters to declare mods within 15daye or insurance is cancelled as they have evidence the car is modified. (Although I'v seen no proof of a letter)
No harm clamp down on the 1.4 on book but 1.6DOHC VTEC fitted etc..
Where do they draw the line regards mods though?
If you fit Bridgestone tyres to a car that came with Continentals, That's technically a change to manufacture spec.
So, I go on a FB page and start saying Ive fitted a S62 into my 525i, and they see it - they'll send me a letter, to declare the mods within 15 days or the pull the plug on my insurance??
Who is to say Im telling the truth - unless they were at a car show, or similar, and happen to take pictures of said mods, they could find themselves in hot water!
