I couldnt get insured on the the e36 when it had no NCT, I actually started reading into it and a lot of insurers will on pay out 3rd party if you don't have a valid nct, and some might refuse to pay out at all.
So you'd be wise to check your fine print, if you don't have a valid nct your insurance may be void.
Removing the arch liners from the car two things
A) there a pain to remove and
B) holy crap the amount of dirt that builds up behind them [emoji50]
Motorway spin to work this morning. Massive down pour for 10 mins, I have healthy tyres on the rear but I swear they were spinning as I tried to accelerate, revs going up etc but no increase in speed from 60mph. Very odd.
Means clutch is going when engine accelerates but the cars going no faster
Although in heavy downpour its possible you may have been aquaplaning for a second or two
I've had my suspicions about the clutch for a wee while. 176,000 on her was bound to happen.Quote:

I never read your post properly you could have been aquaplaning if its not happening in the dry

E46 m3's have really aged well, still a great car to see on the road considering they are 13 years old now
Anyone bought tyres frpm Oponeo.ie before? Need a pair of fronts for the compact
I bought a set of winters for the GF's car, cheaper than I could get anywhere else and quick enough delivery too.Quote:

Quick question is the propshaft doughnut easily replaced while the diffs been swapped out ?
take 3 bolts off the box flange then 3 bolts between donut and prop and its offQuote:

If its showing its age its no harm, but it can be changed while the prop is still attached to the diff. Suppose the best thing to do is have a look at it and see if its worn
Dropped in to order some parts in the local dealership earlier, saw a loads of lovely brand spanking new F10's and F30's getting the sweeping brush treatment :surprised:
And my valve caps are gone :(

You wouldn't kick her out of bed for eating crisps....
Quick question here
Basically my diff (small case) has a slight leak a the back and I think its just a perished gasket (haven't pulled it off) where would I be able to pick up the gasket ? Or what's the BMW part number?
Also my clocks are missing a few LEDs in the mileage part anyone know who could fix that ?
Much appreciated :)
Clocks are an easy fix, 2 bolts at the top and wiggle out, but bulbs might be tricky to find other then BMW, but could be got in motor factors? As for diff, check out realoem for part numbers etc maybe @[Super4] be able to help you out on both @[Steve320] ;)
