Part of me can't help but agree with the sentiment in the thread. Current models are capable but seem to have lost a little bit of "completeness" of experience. They're not stirring the soul so much, mine anyway, (to an extent I'm not considering the current M models as they are out of reach for most of us, but even those seen to have lost something of late). My recently departed F10 was a fantastic mile muncher but it always left me wanting a bit more (not in performance terms, it is what it is, but in terms of involvement). Being back in the e39 and e36, and even to an extent the Z4, for the moment seems to have filled that gap, while still being very capable in pretty much all the other areas.
Interesting read! It mentions how other manufacturers are kind of following suit and how many of each ones marques look the same! This is something I have felt about BMW for a long while since the arrival of the F10. I can tell a 3er but if a 5 or 7 pass me I'm stumped. So in that regard I have lost interest. Is it possible I'm stuck in a generation? Maybe, but for me the e92 M3 has been the last of the greats. I wait with bated breath to see what the future holds. I feel I may have to wait for a 435 to pop up at which time my e92 335i could be 15-16 years old! On a plus, she'll be on my classic policy at that stage!:D

Hmmmm Paddy i reckon the M3/M4 is even better than the E90/E92 (apart from lacking a v8). Have seen one or two on our roads and when one is coming towards you you know it's not a normal 3 series and has serious road presence:cool:
A small bit of driving today, 650km covered.
So we have the L sticker and the N sticker. Would it be a bad thing to have an O or a P or indeed OAP for those drivers who are of an advanced age? I find that these, not all, drivers can be lethal in the wrong circumstance.
Probably a dumb question but I can't remember if their is a new rule regarding owners bringing the car in themselves
Can I bring the other halfs car for it's nct once I bring the log book ?
You sure can, don't forget your own ID tooQuote:
