That thing is stupid. How to completely ruin an E39. That engine is a donkey.Quote:

The S62/M62 is actually quite efficient, you need to be running very aggressive cams (and unless I'm mistaken, 2 valves per cylinder) without vanos which means it's going to be as thirsty as a truck. You're gonna lose that low RPM smoothness.Quote:

Its a v8 with the same torque as an s62 i dont know the exact weights of the s62 or ls but with an iron block and non vanos its going to be damn powerfull reliable lump really cant see how its ruined to be honestQuote:

Rev speed, throttle response, the delivery of power, refinement, everything that makes an S62 awesome is going to be missing, you can bet your ass it doesn't Rev to 7k and you won't have the same broad torque curve.Quote:

Even in America 100 miles to a tank of fuel will be an issue.
Today I had to put down my first ever dog..she was a real fighter but the last week she just couldn't give anymore, cancer, blind , heart condition etc..I wont go into it all. She was 16 and a half years old ive had her since 1999 I think it was. .not the usual type of post on a car site but why not share..she was wonderful and its a strange sadness to have over an animal. .itll be the last pet for us..give your own a good rub or whatever. .its quite painful loosing them
Sorry to hear that man. I'm in a similar situation with my dog he's 15 now and his health has gone down hill lately. I thought he was taking his last breaths on Friday but he just keeps fighting! Vets again this evening for tests but I'm fearing the worst.Quote:
