Hope it's the end of it Mark!Quote:

Then I had a look to see had anything been broken & I was greeted with a missing piece of rubber trim!
I am furious about the whole thing & now I'm wondering what else made its way to the "spare parts" bin.
Man, this is $h1t. :(
one could give them the benefit of the doubt about the oil, but missing trim???? If you can't trust a BMW dealer with your.... BMW, then who could you trust? This is fairly shit alright man... Sorry to hear it.
just more new parts will be fitted in :hehe!: only joke of course  it would make my blood boilQuote:

That's unbelievable, utterly disgraceful. Did you actually get to drive the car and see if they fixed it or just broke it further?Quote:

OK, I've calmed down. The seal is back in, just an oversight in the workshop. The mats will be covered too, stress levels returning to normal. This car is meant to be fun, I think I should take up a new hobby like Golf, these cars are just too stressful, I get enough of that in work!
Well mark are the the brakes sorted.
Two weeks on and the pedal is still OK. Happy with that. Not all the mats are in yet though.
What was replaced or fixed on the brake system this time ?
The issue from the start seems to have been caused by a faulty DSC (ABS) unit. The DSC unit is used for cruise control, cornering brake control, stability control, hill start assist & ABS, possibly more. So it has the ability to brake individual wheels or axles itself when it needs to o so to fulfil any of the functions outlined above.
The last time I drove the car prior to the fix I had the rear brakes lock up solid. So I think the issue all along was that the DSC unit was constantly applying the rear brakes unnecessarily & causing the brake fluid to boil over time. The cause of the soft brake pedal.
Happy days, hope you can now get to enjoy what your car was really made for, hooning around with smiles from ear to ear.
