@[Enda] that's stunning
Cheers Chris. That's my first time using blacklight (having had it siting in my cleaning box for about 2 years!) really impressed with how wet it looks.Quote:

Yeah its decent stuff I found it a bit hard to work with compared to similar products from CG'sQuote:

Finally got to spend a small bit of time on the X3 today. Snow foam, wash, wheels wash, dry and a Quick Detailer. Coated the black plastics with Aerospace 303 with brought a bit of life back and Meguiars on the tyres. And a Hoover.
Would like to do a clay and machine polish soon and there is no protection on the paint and some swirly action going on.

Some nice work there Andy, the 303 really does bring life back into the bumpers. Mother had full black bumpers on here old punto and really let it down once they started to grey
@[Andy] you missed a bit!
Looks very well, can I drop mine out for some of the same please??
Yeah no probs Mr H, anytime and any car! :DQuote:

If you look back through this thread, you wont see any posts from me doing anything car related; because since the arrival of my son, almost a year ago, Ive only washed the car once; yes once! :( :o :( And even when I did that, it was a rushed job - it was as bad as it was today; washed the wheels, snowfoamed it, washed it with one bucket and rinsed. Was a stupid thing to do, but it had to be done!
So today, I had planned on spending a few hours on the car; prep it properly for some LSP as whatever was on it last, is long, LONG gone!
Plug in the hoover, pull out the lead, bring it out the door, realise the lead isnt long enough (moved house recently); just then *click*....the front door closes over...balls; locked out! Luckily I had the car key. Off into town to get the keys off the missus - hoover sitting a the front door! :o :P
That ruined any chance of getting the planned work done, so had to change the plan to give the car a wash and hoover to get the heavy dirt off it, and attack it again at a later date.
Wanted to see how effective a non-aggitate wash would be on the wheels; the wheels were destroyed

Rinsed with PW'er

Wheel Cleanse dwelling - 1 product : 2 water
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...psp06ojeza.jpg
Forgot to take a picture after the rinse, but the applied Chemical Guys D-Con; how it looked after doing all 4 wheels
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...psl1s71xxc.jpg
After 5 minutes - was in direct sunlight, so decided I'd wash it off as most of the work was probably done
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...psqpiadaye.jpg
Rinsed - not bad for a touchless wash - was lots of tar, and in the corners of the spokes still needed attention, but for no agitation and the state they were in; I'll take it
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...psocusuvy8.jpg
Wheels really need to come of the car and be given the full treatment...painful job, so think I'll protect them properly when I do! ;)
Before

Car power hosed down; washed with the two bucket method. A bit better....
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...pseeoin24p.jpg
Definitely no protection - miss the beads! :(
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...pslnnpmzue.jpg
Didnt bother to dry it and this is the resulting water staining - should have really washed the car again, but wasnt bothered! :P

Decided that Id do half the bonnet and a panel on the side of the car with OAC Perfection, so see the results on untreated paintwork, as I had only applied it on paintwork with LSP that was on the way out. Wanted to see how it would perform over the next while, until the next wash.
Some of the white marks are actually bits of fluff from a new towel Id opened.

The car is destroyed in swirls; was starting to show some anyways, before I stupidly decided I'd rush a quick wash not following the methods I'd usually preach about! Car hasnt been polished in around 4 years; jezz I have it 4 years now!! It's in desperate need of a machine polish; might have to do it panel by panel over a few weeks, as I just dont have the time anymore!
Perfection on the right - definitely deeper, glossier, and hiding some defects!!
Will see how the beading is when it rains!
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...ps8ddczvva.jpg
Not including set up; about an hours work including tidy up - car needs WAY more hours of TLC to return it to its form glory!! :( How I miss how it used to look! :( :(
http://i86.photobucket.com/albums/k9...psefdbd88f.jpg
thanks god U washed it :hehe!::hehe!::hehe!:,looks much much better now
Yeah, it was beyond a joke.....I literally cringed anytime I met someone to sell them a few bits of detailing items.
Least now it looks like I havent had the chance to wash it in a few days! :P :D
DISGRACEFUL DAVID :tounge: :tounge:
Car really could do with a couple days of polishing get it back to how it was or even better
Sounds like you wanna get your hands on it!! :PQuote:

Has anyone with an alcantara steering wheel tried to clean it and if so, what products did you use? The autobrite alcantara cleaner looks pretty good so i'll prob end up buying a bottle off @[Curran]
Its a bit of tough thing to clean as it's quite delicate. I'd use an alcantara cleaner and a soft bristle brush to agitate it. Microfibre cloth to try soak up as must moisture and dirt as possible. You might need to repeat two or three times to get it right!
Drop it into the dry cleaners, or wash it "with febreeze" [emoji14]
As far as I am concerned managed to give the Estate some love on Wednesday with a beautiful evening we had here in Cork…

... and ...
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...ps62c7e7c4.jpg
Meanwhile I am getting closer and closer to the time I can give the car some proper detailing with the DAS6… can’t wait !
So a little preview of what is to come:
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...psfcf98174.jpg
10 x 49W T5 Fluorescent lights being setup (3 on each wall - Right and Left - and 4 on the ceiling) with 4 double sockets in the interior, 1 external socket and water access for my Nilfisk C110 Pressure Washer
Little close-up of the T5s and double sockets
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...ps620e2815.jpg
More to come over the next weeks…
Not jealous of your car or the garage!!
SO THERE!
Damn you Harry! :P
Garage is coming along nicely and nice set up with the lights/sockets. As you already know, detailingworld has a section dedicated to garage builds that might help with storage
Took advantage of the good weather this morning to clean the E90. Started with Orchard Cotton Candy Snow foam then 2 bucket wash followed by AutoGlym Super Resin Polish & then a coat of AutoGlym Ultra Deep Shine.
Used a Microfiber Madness Dry Me Crazy towel that I picked up from Detailing Shed for the first time, have to say might impressed with it!

Thats brilliant work - great turn around!
The problem is keeping them like that I done mine came up like new but once polished the protective coating is removed and 6 months down the line they were oxidising again
I sealed them with ceriglass after polishing but it made no difference , still a polish twice a year should keep them in tip top shape
They do however come up a treat and it makes a nice difference to the front end
Could we put some sealant or even spray them with clear coat to keep them fresh?
Found this via google. LINK
I wonder, will it work?
This could be good for a fraction of the cost gets great reviews http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0051PJWQW?pc_redir=1401164814&robot_redir=1
I'm gonna give it a try
Your regular wax would do a reasonable job - better than nothing applied - however Ive no experience of the other products mentioned!
Gar Ceriglass is the cutting polish for glass, shouldn't be used on these type of lenses tbhQuote:

Actually here it is with a quick google, maybe the one im thinking of is different and maybe is a product for authorised dealers/fitters only but this looks excellent too

I have jetseal 109 on it now, but i ordered the stuff on Gars link. It seems to have lots of good reviews.
Sorry my mistake It was in an old ceriglass bottle (with a label sealant over it) I got it off brian at s.d donkeys agoQuote:

When doing the panels to see the swirls I might go for some portable Flood lights on a tripod but first I want to see how things change with all white walls
For storing the Detailing Products I was thinking of a Wall Mounted Cabinet with glass sliding doors whereas for my tools a Peg wall which I think is easiest and does not take too much space :smiling:

Today I finally managed to give the estate some love as since April a lot of work has been done to the house so it was not the ideal place to clean the estate...
First of a good Snowfoam bath...
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0b2a6775.jpg
... followed by a two BM wash
http://i1170.photobucket.com/albums/...ps1738d032.jpg
After that time to try out the new Setup in the Garage with the lights finally connected and I must say knowing you are not affected by the weather changes the game completely ;)
So started to tackle the roof with Bilt Hamber Clay and AG Detailer followed by some polishing with the Kestrel DAS6 and all being protected by some Coolinite Sealant.
For it to be the way I want, it would either need to be wet-sanded or even better repainted. I might try and go for the first option and see the results before bringing it to the next level...
For today however I am a happy camper...

Well on Sat I washed, detarred, washed again, clayed, washed then polished and added 2 coats of wax. Waxed the wheels and polished the exhaust tips. Forgot pics though:huh:
What wax did you use on the car? HD?
Did you get to use your Wheel Woolies....what you reckon?
Yep HD wax. There's a lovely shine off it now!
The wheel woolies are fantastic, it's so easy to clean the wheels now. The medium size one is perfect for the wheels, small one was chewed up by the dog on day 1:mad:
Should have battered it with the large one for doing that! :PQuote:

After washing, claying, machine polishing and finishing with Pete's 53, the finished result. Luckily the paint was in great condition, very few marks and swirls, it was clearly detailed a few years ago.
