I saw someone predict on another forum a few months back by looking at trends in oil prices that petrol would be at 1.30 by Christmas..seems he won't be too far off if it stays going
€1/L would be absolutely fantastic, I remember it being around that price when I first started driving
I'm showing my age now but when I started driving petrol was 44p a litre! Steadily rose to 55p and then I think the euro came in and it was 75c a litre! Good old retail conversion.

cheapest I've ever bought fuel in ireland was at approx €1.35 :(
Any saving at the pump is quickly lost again at home with electricity and gas just climbing and climbing
To see petrol at a euro again would be great though it was just under a 1e when i got my e36

Wrecks my head, Esb + BG are making a killing from this! The guys at a fourcourt will make a small bit more but not a massive amount considering whatever happens we have to pay excise at 6Xc a litre.

Fuel prices in Cork Yesterday night

Why is the petrol almost the same as the diesel there?
I'd be wary of that, I only buy from the reputable brands now.
it is a reputable garage they are customer of us.Quote:

Poxy Maynooth ESSO was still 141.9 for petrol, on Sunday anyway! I asked the clerk if their prices were ever going to come down in line with current market prices (after spotting 135.9 in Clontarf - Should have tanked her there) and I was told no way!! Scabby barstewards!!!
Not long after I got the coupe, nearly 5 years ago it was a shade under €100 to fill it up. Yesterday it cost me €79.xx @133.9c/L There is more to this than just oversupply...Syria/US Fracking/Ze Russians and vested interests. Meanwhile, Kildare Street won't budge on the greedy VAT/Duty which is a fixed rate per L and not a % (circa. 60c/L)
Esso Maynooth has always been expensive.Quote:

That could have been the one I passed on Sunday so! It was a maxol anyway!Quote:

Probably it, though the esso at Clontarf is a close competitor.Quote:

129.9 in TOP garage today, and i also seen 138.9 in a Topaz thats nearly 10 cent in the difference between garages here in Waterford
Topaz are a complete rip off, they're always minimum 5c more expensive than anywhere else. 139.9 today in Douglas which is 10c more than the cheapest in Cork. I get the impression they want to buy all the petrol stations to take over the market and then jack up the prices even more. Bastids!
any cork members here know where its the cheapest for petrol atm ?
Esso on the link on the way from town to the airport or Texaco in Togher are always very cheap and good quality petrol.Quote:

Boycott topaz if you can. They sell dirt fuel that has been rejected by other companies at a rip off price. Also any of ther deli's are muck I'd rather eat My own leg.
124.9 for diesel in applegreen in Crumlin =)
Is this just your opinion, or do you have any facts to back this up? Big statement in fairness about one of the biggest fuel sellers in Ireland "selling dirt fuel"!Quote:

Scotfreee, has also been putting Topaz fuel in his car for the same period of time and is now starting to show signs of injectors failing too, both cars were on their original injectors, my car has 20k miles less on it than James' does now. So both cars start suffering injector problems over roughly the same period of time. Make of that what you will.
