M135i features in a hot hatch test tonight.
Apparently Clarkson poo-poo's it.
They're only a year late for thier review.
However apparently the M135i sets a stonking lap time

At least they were able to show how much faster the m135 is than its other hot hatch competitors.
918 is a fantastic piece of kit
The special next week, so that's the end if the series already
Unreal what they can do with cars now a days!Quote:

5 Stars out of 5
Bit of a turn around. Must have been a dry test.......
Clarkson is a muppet. Its the standard top gear review...Quote:

Car B is better because...its British, its got more "character", some stupid reason that bears no real world relevance.
Top Gear is a joke, fecking torching crotch pizza, or doing bicycle ads...why do I watch it. Havent watched a star in the reasonably priced car except in fast forward in years.
It's a heavily scripted reality tv show. Think of it as big brother with 3 men trapped in a studio who do things for your entertainment.Quote:

Its ok for it to be a scripted TV show.
But for Clarkson to come out with 2 conflicting statements is unprofessional and brings his integrity in to question.
he's paid to have opinions on cars and to tell us what his opinions are but he has to be consistent and tell the truth.
Thread revival! So Top Gear is back on our screens since last week...what are your opinions so far on the show?
I thought last night's episode was quite good. For those who haven't seen it..they take a M6 Gran Coupe, Bentley Continental and a Nissan GTR out to the outback in Australia for some cattle herding:hehe!:
I always watch Top Gear, it's a little bit annoying when they're doing less reviewing and more being idiots but I always look forward to it and enjoy it. Not many alternative car shows anyway really is there!
Agreed, although i only watch it purely for entertainment purposes! I'll definitely be watching the episode with the new M3 review though..
I'm behind on the first 2 episodes, sounds like it might be worth a watch for the comedy factor. Nowadays I just watch/read Chris Harris when I want to get the real facts/low down on a few motors
Chris Harris is lightyears ahead and knows how to drive the cars too:cool: Apparently he will be making an appearance on 5th Gear soon enough!Quote:

GTR I'm sure is a fantastic car but it looked out of place with the other two there, proper plastic pig!
Just finished watching it now M6 for me but it'd need to be on a smashing bmw finance deal like @[DoktorB] found for M5s.
Deals on the M6 was on last year afaik.Quote:

Possibly the worst episode ever this evening
Pure $h1t! I didn't even wait till the end.
I love Top Gear, Big fan of Clarkson.
I prefer the dicking around eppisodes over the serious car reviews, It's turn your brain off entertainment.
Tonight, Really could have been condensed to about 40ish mins though.
Few funny bits, Clarkson's unloading technique, Him with the patient in the back with Stig driving, Hammonds patient launcher.
But really drawn out, Especially at the end in the abandoned housing estate. Drove the same bit of road in a good few takes... It was like they just needed footage to fill the hour slot. (Similar to last week)
SIARPC was okay, Not really a fan of this as it's normally someone promoting a book/film... Seemed a genuine guy and had a very good lap.
About a 5/10 for me.
Better than Heartbeat......
A pretty dismal episode - a few laughs to be had but that's it..it probably didn't help that I was watching the CSL episode just prior to that:happy:
Last week's episode with Bentley, M6 and GTR was OK, but this week was utter tripe.
It's getting too predictable & formulaic now.
The "comedic" modifications if the cars to meet the "challenge" is a case in point, you know the approach each of them will take, the same as before. It was funny the first time, 4 or 5 years ago.
The predicable bashing in to each other, staged "comedy" moneys like patient falling out of ambulance. What's the point?
At this stage I'd rather see them make a proper, genuine attempt at one of these "challenges". They should scrap those comedy type ones. But their audience is growing and maybe that's what the masses want....
I think this has all been well documented.
Accept it for what it is - "automotive themed entertainment" and move on. Have a realistic expectation and then you won't be dissappointed.
Theres plenty of other "serious" car reviewing channels on Youtube etc. I particularly like "Harry's Garage" which is a channel running videos of Harry Metcalf owner of Evo magasine. He does quite good reviews as alot of the cars he actually owns.
M3 & i8 on tonight....
Edit: as Sky planner had wrong info... [emoji15]
And i8, much better than last week already!Quote:
