He has sent me pics on the restoration, it looks like it was done right, body was stripped down, new panels etc. Same with engine.
Ye the wheels would be the first to go and lowered. Other than that I don't think I'd do much, but I always say that :p

I'd wanna see rust preventative measures done on an e30 resto more than just an exterior repaint and just getting the cylinder head skimmed.
Also is the roof in good condition and fully functional.
If it's all there imho it's prob a 6-7k car. Wheels wouldn't bother me, just get rid asap :D

Ill have to ask about the rust prevention, He has all receipts for work done so if it was done it will be on that.
Wheels will go first, but id say if they were not so silver and the car was lowered with spacers they actually wouldnt look so bad, they are kind of lost on it for 17s :o

Obviously you will have to look at the tax book and check the chassic number to make sure it is actually a sport model it would affect the price if u are plan on keeping it or selling it abroad. There are very few genuine convertible sports out there and would be worth a lot more. It's easy stick on an mtech kit and leather interior and call it a sport. Also you must be wondering why people are so sceptical about the condition of this car. With the way e30s rusts and what a proper restoration job costs a lot of the time (not always) the workman ship carried out isn't up to scratch, a lot of filler and good spray job can make any car look good. I have a 325 sport which is in need of a full restoration, while trying to fine someone I could trust to do it and the fact that it will cost in the excess of 15k it's not a lot of people that will carry out such a project. As for the car if it's a good one you will love it and the attention you will get while owning it is unreal.

Thanks Benny, good advice.
I know all about the issues with poor restorations, my last e30 vert looked good on the outside but has some issues hidden, it wasn't that bad but there were a whole lot of small problems with the car that drove me mad. So I know exactly what I'll be looking for when it comes to that.
I still made money on it though and got a nice summer out of it so I can't complain.
And yes they get allot of attention.

Motor check is coming back clean on the car and he just sent me a photo of the registration form and chassis number and it is a genuine sport. And engine and chassis check out and all original.

Think ye'very made your mind up on this one! ;) Given the E60 is up on DD too! ;)

Well I'll decide later.
My only issue is there's no NCT, which isn't a big deal in itself but the ins won't insure it without NCT or engineers report so I'll have to try organise that too.
-
something is dodgy, I checked NCT and the car was booked in for 1st of April but he didn't bring it ? And didn't mention that.
Car has been registered in the country for 11 years and never seen an NCT ?
Anytime I mention it he says he'll do the NCT and keep it himself ?
Finally he just insulted me by saying my cars worth 5k and his is worth 9.5k ?
So if that's a fact! whys he willing to do a deal on a car worth 4.5k less.
I'm gonna run away from this one.
