Cool, so not just my imagination then :D
I've been trying to look into it more and according to this https://www.topaz.ie/TOPAZ/media/Topaz/Consumer/PDF/Specs/UNLEADED-spec.pdf Topaz fuel contains 5% ethanol as well, but I never noticed a difference in engine performance with Topaz fuel, it was only the Maxol that felt noticeably better, wonder why that is?
Anybody else notice any difference with any particular fuel?
RE: Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
The 911 Turbo use to run better on Maxol, it boosted better. But I think I got some bad fuel there before and it ran terrible.
Since then the car has been remapped and aint noticed a difference between any fuel. I do avoid Apple Green though
RE: Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
Noticed though the car runs better on Maxol fuel it's significantly more thirsty (consistently 5-7mpg less than when using non-Maxol fuel. Wonder why that is? Anybody notice the same?
Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
Applegreen is E5 too but I find my car runs better on other petrol. I tend to buy texaco as there's one local to me.
RE: Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
Does the ethanol make it burn quicker/easier? would 5% make such a difference as well?
Funny thing is I always notice the car running better after a Maxol fill up, but I never notice the opposite after a non-Maxol fill up.

It burns at a lower temperature, and has less power output, but has a higher octane rating, resistance to knocking is more beneficial to boosted engines. Marginal differences at 5% though.

Never used it really, it's only for emissions before an NCT no?
RE: Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
I definitely get more mileage out of Maxol/Topaz. I tried an Esso fill last week and got about 30/40 miles less than what I typically get from a Maxol/Topaz fill.
RE: Petrol Stations / Ethanol etc
Didn't notice much of difference with Maxol in the CSL, so generally stick to Texaco or Esso now. It goes like a b***ard on Shell V-Power 99 though whenever I've been away. Didn't notice any difference with Maxol in the GP either
Don't fancy using any Ethanol content in the older stuff
