RE: 530d taxed as 2 litre
I'd do this in a heartbeat if I could on the M3. People usually chime in with the same nonesense that if you can't afford the tax you can't afford an m3. Taxing and running the M3 isn't a problem, paying €511 a quarter for a car that's driven twice a month is hard to justify! So if anyone can sort it feel free to PM me.
RE: 530d taxed as 2 litre
If it's a 6 cylinder BMW engine for example we'll say on an e36....they are very hard to tell the difference unless you actually know what to look for. What is to stop someone so inclined putting a 2.8 into a 2 liter and saying they were none the wiser and "it was like that when I bought it".
I assume that engine swaps stamped or not are rife and have been for years?
RE: 530d taxed as 2 litre
I think the problem would arise when they look at both discs side by side in the window
You will have insurance M3 or 328 then tax directly beside it saying 318 or 320
No need to even lift the bonnet

Assuming it's insured correctly but that's a whole other welly of fish...

I discovered (nearly 2 years after buying the car...) that my car says BMW "other" on NCT Disc, no mention of model on insurance disc, and on the tax disc it's just the engine size.
It was the same on another member's e36, I heard it's on e46s onwards that it says the model but don't know how true that is or why it would be the case. My car is begging for it really, but I just prefer a hassle free existence :p

I have also heard any garage can do it.

If its not then they may as well not even bother putting anything in the windscreen

Mine siad 318 on both discs on my e36 , personally i couldn't give a shite if people tax it as a 1.1 as long as you have insurance ,iv argued both sides of the argument in the past
My nct even has it

As for eco warriors ?? Not sure what that means something to do with emissions ,saving the whales or recycling perhaps
