Just for further reference
The date of first registration is the day after your Nct expireds just in the year of first registration.

For example the Nct in the e39 expires on 22nd May 2015 so it was first registered on 23rd May 2002

I booked the e39 into ballymun at about 10 days notice, they were holding back a load of times and released them early on a Monday. Just keep logging in and checking

Where did I read recently that the booking system updates itself not in real time but periodically at around 11pm at night. To take into account the days booking/cancellation activites etc - might be worth logging in around that time to see what free's up.
