In fairness new BMW leather is fecking shocking bad quality
I had to check the factory spec to confirm that the upholstery on Mrs D's e91 was real leather (Dakota) and not the pleather option that was also available. It is real leather but it really is quite poor. The e60 supposedly has the same leather, Dakota, but they are like chalk and cheese. The f10 had, and the e63 has, nappa. That really is quite nice, both visual and tactile difference.
I had a look at an F10 msport there that had comfort seats..leather was really soft, different headrests too...that's a different leather I presume?
The e63 also has Dakota leather not Naopa, albeit a much better version. My M6 has merino leather.
